Admissions


All international students are required to hold a valid student pass during their course of study in Malaysia. 



 
Registration / Before Arrival

STEP 1

Documents required for registration:
  • To complete KDU application form
  • Passport copies (all pages, detail page in colour). Passport must have at least 2 years validity.
  • Academic results and academic certificates (English translated copy, if required)
  • Passport-sized photograph with white background (3.5cm [W] * 4.5cm[H])
  • Health examination report
  • Release letter, result and attendance report (for transfer student within Malaysia’s institution)
  • Enrolment fee of RM800 ≈ USD200EMGS fees of RM2,120 ≈ USD530, comprising the following:
    • International student visa application processing fee of RM1,000
    • Medical insurance RM500 (minimum package)
    • Medical examination fee RM250 (must be done within 7 working days upon arrival in Malaysia)
    • iKad RM50
    • Student visa endorsement fee RM200
    • 6% Sales and Services Tax (SST)

The above mentioned fees (which is equivalent to USD730) can be paid via telegraphic transfer to the following account:

STEP 2 

Offer letter will be issued after KDU receives student’s application and payment. (1-2 days)

STEP 3

KDU will submit student’s visa application to Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) to process for visa approval letter (VAL).
The process will take 2 - 4 weeks (based on processing time taken by EMGS).

STEP 4

KDU will send notification to inform student on student visa approval. Student is required to apply for an entry visa from Malaysian Embassy in their country (if necessary)
 
After Obtaining Visa Approval Letter
STEP 1

To pay for the first semester's tuition fee and accommodation rental before arrival.

STEP 2

Student MUST inform KDU of their arrival details and accommodation requirement (AT LEAST ONE WEEK before arrival date). KDU staff will assist student to get immigration clearance at airport.  Failure to inform KDU less than 5 working days, a penalty of RM100 will be imposed.

After Arrival
STEP 1

To report at International Office, KDU within 3 days upon arrival.


STEP 2

To pay balance of fees & get Student ID at Admission & Bursary Office.


STEP 3

To make an arrangement for medical examination at EMGS approved panel clinics within 7 days upon arrival in Malaysia.


STEP 4

To submit passport to KDU International Office for endorsement of student pass.
(Passport will be ready for collection within 2 - 4 weeks from the date of submission) 


STEP 5

To sit for the English Placement test (if applicable) & attend class.


STEP 6

To open a bank account, if required by obtaining a verification letter from Admission & Bursary Office.
