Sports play a vital role in modern contemporary society. It is an integral part of life essential for the physical and mental well-being of individuals. Not only is it a physical activity but also an area where people socially interact.

Generally, sports has been praised for its numerous benefits which include: bridging the cultural and ethnic divides, improving on health and fitness,  creating opportunities for employments and businesses to flourish, fostering teamwork and fair competition, contributing to the cross cultural dialogue and ensuring peaceful-coexistence.

Student & Alumni Centre organised KDU Fitspiration Carnival 2018 at Glenmerie and Damansara Jaya Campus. The KDU Fitspiration Carnival featured in 4 sports which are Tele-match, futsal, basketball and dodgeball tournament.

The fitspiration carnival started with an officiation ceremony of cake cutting by Prof. Hiew Pang Liang, KDU Vice Chancellor Assoc and Prof. Dr. Hon Wei Min, KDU Vice Chancellor Academic. The meaningful opening remarks was witnessed by 70 participants from staff and students. The event continued with a 30-minutes warming up session by external Zumba instructor, Mr. Zin Remy and his team to kick-start the event.

KDU Fitspiration Carnival started off with tele-match games which is Tug of War, Sack Race and Sponge Race. In the tele-match, each school were required to send 12 team members consists of at least 1 staff and 11 students to represent their teams.

There were divided into six colours of team which represented 6 different school, School of Communication (Red), School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts (Orange), School of Business (Yellow), School of Engineering and School of Computing & Creative Media (Purple), School of Pre-University and School of Business & Social Sciences (Blue), lastly was American Degree Program & KDU Law School (Green).
The first day Firspiration event ended with a price giving ceremony by Dr. Hon Wei Min with 2nd Runner Up won by Yellow and Green house, 1st runner up won by Blue house and overall champion for KDU Fitspiration Carnival Tele-Match goes to Purple house. 

The next day of KDU Fitspiration Carnival was held in two different venues simultaneously which are KDU College, Damansara Jaya Campus and KDU University College, Glenmarie Campus. It was started off with badminton tournament at DJ Campus and at the same time for UG campus are futsal and dodgeball tournament.

For the badminton tournament, 2nd runner up won by Red house (Team A), while 1st runner up won by Yellow house (Team A) and the champion of KDU Fitspiration Carnival (Badminton) goes to Orange house (Team A) for the futsal tournament, 2nd runner up won by Yellow house (Team B), while 1st runner up won by Blue house (Team A) and the champion of KDU Fitspiration Carnival (Futsal) goes to Yellow house (Team A).

The results for the dodgeball KDU Fitspiration Carnival, 2nd runner up won by Blue house (Team A), while 1st runner up won by Purple house (Team A) and the champion of KDU Fitspiration Carnival (Dodgeball) goes to Red house (Team A).
 
The final day of KDU Fitspiration Carnival was held in KDU University College, UG Campus was Basketball tournament. It was  participated by 9 teams, for 2nd runner up won by Yellow house (Team B), while 1st runner up won by Purple house (Team A) and the champion of  KDU Fitspiration Carnival (Basketball) goes to Yellow house (Team B).

In conclusion, the KDU Fitspiration Carnival 2018 was a big success which it helps to release our competitive urges and help us get more exercise. Sports are a good thing because they help to stop violence and help people come together in harmony. Sport is a great motivator for people to get into shape and is also a business that generates millions for our country. Sport provides a lot of jobs for people and the elements within sport such as competition, exercise and working as a team have been around for a long time. Sport embodies the ideas of friendly competition and may work on a very healthy team basis.
