Joy and laughter filled the air as the Live Summer Tour from Levi’s and a live band, the Honest Mistake made their stop at the iconic KDU University College campus located at Utropolis, Glenmarie on the 30th of March 2018. The famous brand Levi Strauss & Co which is well known for its Levi’s brand of Denim jeans; collaborated with KDU and a local band, An Honest Mistake, for their ultimate roadshow that promises nothing but excitement and unbelieveable deals for their new lines of products. KDU is proud to become the first destination that kicked off this event out of the other 6 universities that they had planned for the tour.
The objective of this colorful event is to bring entertainemnt and seek out budding talents in the musical industry of Malaysia while promoting the new lines of products of denim jeans at a lower price tag. Overall, the event was split into two segments; whereby the first being Levi’s roadshow at the main entrance in which they displayed and sold their brand-new line of jeans, gave away free vouchers and landyards through a vending machine lucky draw system and had a customisation booth that offered free alteration of the old and brandnew levi’s denim products.
The second part of the event focused on music and spearheaded by Darren Teh and his band, An Honest Mistake. During this session, they conducted two mentorship sessions; at 11.30am and 3.30pm. The first session was Darren’s sharing session on how he got started in the music industry which was through a university level “battle of the bands competition” and the sacrifices he had to make as well as struggles he went through to finally get to where he is today; from playing in empty bars to crowds of tens of thousands. The second mentorship session was catered towards more advanced and serious musicians, the topic being “taking your music to the next level” where Darren encouraged the participants to be bold and not be afraid in performing and putting their music out there. At the end of the day, it is your passion that you live by and not others’ perception towards your motive. All in all, it was a casual Q&A-like session where participants were allowed to ask him any questions related to music.

The entire event was wrapped up during Freshie’s night where the band performed their popular songs as well as new songs in their upcoming album, scheduled to be released in May 2018. Their set lasted for about 45 minutes before calling it a night at 10.30pm.
