KDU Wins the Bronze Award of the Putra Brand Award, Education And Learning Category

For the second year in a row, KDU has claimed the bronze award for the prestigious Putra Brand Award 2018 of the Education & Learning category. The victory further solidified the institution’s commitment towards its brand and academic excellence in providing top notch education quality to the public with at an affordable price.
 
The significant accolade was presented to KDU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hiew Pang Leang by Astro Group Sales Director, Mr. TH Chong and 4As Council Member Mr. Sean Wong, during a gala dinner at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Friday, Oct 26.
 
The momentous occasion was shared with KDU Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Associate Prof Dr Hon Wei Min, KDU Chief Marketing Officer Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mohamed, Head of Schools, and Head of Departments.
 
In its ninth consecutive year, the Putra Brand Awards, also known as the People’s Choice Awards, recorded its highest number of respondents from the Malaysian public who actively participated in the call for nominations to recognise and honour Malaysia’s favourite brands.
 
The 2018 installation of the Putra Brand Awards also saw an increase of 15% in the number of awards given out, compared to 2017, which further cementing its position as Malaysia’s premier brand awards that recognises brand building as an integral business investment measured by consumer preference.
 
The evening began with 141 awards including 40 Gold, 43 Silver, and 58 Bronze awards across 23 categories presented to deserving brands as voted on by consumers for their relevance and popularity.
 
“This year’s winners are brands who have demonstrated exceptional mastery across multiple platforms including advertising, promotions, retail presence, social media dominance, and consumer-centricity.
 
“They represent the pinnacle in terms of ranking and recognition and have succeeded in creating an experience and personal connection, not only capturing share of heart and wallet, but also share of life,” said President of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) Andrew Lee.
 
Agreeing with Andrew Lee, Senior Adviser to the 4As and Organising Chairman of the Putra Brand Awards 2018, Dato’ Johhny Mun, said that it is a ‘money can’t buy’ award as it was voted by the public.
 
“Tonight’s award is not given by us or by anybody else, it is given to you by the people,” he told the audience of marketers and agencies at the gala dinner.
 
Commenting on the win, Prof Dr Hiew Pang Leang said that he was extremely thankful to the parents, students as well as the wide communities for their continual support and recognition.
 
“At the same time, I am also very fortunate to have supportive team that is willing to go through fire and water with me to achieve our goals. Good work team!
 
“The win also cemented our efforts of providing holistic education in nurturing and shaping our children to be future leaders and future entrepreneurs who will be the driving force of success towards the nation building and the world” Prof Dr Hiew Pang Leang said.
 
Meanwhile, KDU Chief Marketing Officer Sheikh Fahmy Sheikh Mohamed pointed out that KDU’s success at the Putra Brand Awards for two consecutive years was a great testament to the brand.
 
“We at KDU are proud that the People recognises the institution as one of the top choices amongst hundreds of private institutions in the country and we will continue to make KDU the People’s Choice,” Sheikh Fahmy said.
