The two-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme is designed to provide students with strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills necessary for a variety of careers in the field of mechanical engineering. This programme is suitable for students who are interested in the design, technology, construction and development of solutions for engineering problems. Catering to the demands of the engineering industry, this diploma will produce graduates who are not only skilful but also well-equipped with current and relevant knowledge in the advancement of this engineering discipline.
 
This programme enables students to apply the fundamentals of electrical engineering and mechatronics to mechanical engineering designs. Students’ learning is facilitated with state-of-the-art laboratories equipped with the latest technology in order to maximise their learning experience. Every student will have the opportunity to handle high end / industrial grade machines and equipment in the engineering laboratories. KDU has an excellent combination of academics who are active researchers and industry specialists who can provide real-world insights to students.
 
The programme also offers students the opportunity to establish strong industry linkage as they could benefit from the existing collaboration between KDU and esteemed industry partners to provide support for project-based learning and internship.

Entry Requirements
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONMINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT
  • SPM / O Levels :
Min. 3 Credits (inclusive of Mathematics and Science subjects)
Pass in SPM subjects (Bahasa Malaysia and History)
  • UEC :
Min. 3 credits (inclusive of Mathematics & Science subjects)
ENGLISH REQUIREMENT 
Local Student :Pass (SPM) / Pass (1119 / UEC / GCE O Level examination) / Min. score of Band 4 in MUET
International Student :Band 5.5 in IELTS; or a score of 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or 550 (paper-based) in TOEFL
.*If English language requirements are not fulfilled, students are required to sit the English Placement Test and based on the results, students will be advised to take the appropriate English course(s) of the Certificate in Intensive English. Students are required to complete the Certificate in Intensive English modules before the commencement of the Bachelor of Communication (Hons).
